For the year running up to the start of my thirties, I’ve been trying to think about what I can do that will have a lasting impact on me. Some kind of large gesture maybe? I thought about another charitable event like my [year of growth] but I couldn’t settle on one thing that I wanted to push myself towards. Instead, I looked back on some of my fondest memories of self improvement and decided that I would reinstate a few of my favourite combinations…
Firstly, since December 2019 I have meditated every day (93 days to the writing of this entry!) – this has has a huge impact on me through a number of large changes going on (but more on that in a future post).
Secondly, I decided to relearn Japanese via the Duolingo app and have just passed 30 days (I am still VERY terrible – but this was one of my fondest memories from university as it was one of the biggest intellectual challenges during my studies).
Thirdly, starting from March 2020 I am reinstating my One New Creative Endeavour (ONCE) a week project – the archive from 2015 can be found [here].
Alongside this, March is also the start of my daily journaling in a bid to push me into writing more and hopefully develop my creative writing. Not all of my journals will be publicly (and some public ones may be extracts) but this blog post is my first entry.
