2023 and Me

Without inserting the regular cliches that come on the first day of the a new year…. I am setting a challenge to help reinvigorate my creativity and generally keep me ticking.

Rather than trying to do large challenges and burn myself out (as I usually do), I want to improve on a couple of things iteratively while still focusing on family and my work.

So my intention so far is to focus on my general well-being on January to set me up for a good start. This will mean three things:

– Body: Move more and get back into regular exercise. Let’s face it, I’m not getting younger and if I can take any unnecessary pressures of this unforgiven body that’s carried me for 32 years… it’s the least I can do to show some gratitude!

– Mind: Daily mediation. This will probably fall into my nighttime routine as a wind down but I use to love daily meditating and want to use it to ground myself back into some of the Buddhist traits I aspire to live up to.

– Soul: Daily journal or gratitude writing. I want to get back into creative endeavours and effective communication is (in my mind) the key to this. So small steps at daily writing to get me back into the flow!

Now, the journals won’t always be public but I aim to try a write at least one ‘blog’ or article a week that could possibly be post online. Will I succeed? My track record here would lead me to not bet on it – but where would the world be without a little bit of blind hope and faith?
